In April 2021, The AFJ began its widespread immunization efforts in Jamaica with a COVID-19 Blitz Site in the Parish of Hanover. Second doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were administered on July 6, 2021, to complete the first phase of AFJ’s vaccination initiative in Hanover. Over 1,200 vaccines were administered. After being inoculated with the second dose, each person received a food package containing staple items and other groceries.

Our most recent initiative was a three-day vaccination blitz at Caymanas Park in St. Catherine, on September 7, 8 & 9th. 2,049 people were inoculated. Both Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines were administered to the general population, including vulnerable groups such as diabetics and the elderly and for students aged 12-18.

The AFJ continues to prioritize widespread COVID-19 vaccination access across Jamaica.
