For over six decades, Mrs. Facey championed the arts, education, and social equity through her personal efforts and as a trustee of the C. B. Facey Foundation. She also spearheaded the establishment of the Jamaica Association for the Deaf Binders and chaired the Danny Williams Primary School for the Deaf for many years.
As founder of The Mill Press, she celebrated Jamaica’s rich history through world-class publications, and as a civic leader, she shaped institutions that continue to enrich society today. Alongside her husband Maurice Facey and their shared vision for Jamaica, Valerie’s unwavering commitment to philanthropy and her visionary leadership, have left an indelible mark on countless lives. Her light and legacy will forever inspire us.
