ABIRAC Contemporary Ltd, a Jamaican registered nonprofit Caribbean Art Foundation sets out to define, support and elevate contemporary art of the Caribbean by advancing the business of art through education, the Foundation and commercial development.
Support This CauseABIRAC Contemporary aims to build a sustainable art ecosystem across the Caribbean, increasing the visibility, value and global reach of Caribbean contemporary art. Based in Kingston, Jamaica, and virtually across the Greater Caribbean, ABIRAC addresses longstanding gaps in the region’s artistic and economic development by building a network of art professionals within the Caribbean and the diaspora for a region of more than 300 million people united by shared history and culture, as creative industries are increasingly recognized as drivers of economic growth.
ABIRAC will develop an artists’ directory, support representation, create institutional access, secure funding, build curricula and archives for academic research. Longer term, it aims to establish an art fair positioning Caribbean contemporary art as a global cultural force contributing to regional economic development. Its vision includes a permanent Kingston-based space with secretariat, exhibition space, and artist studios.
