Sanmerna Foundation responded to the dire need of recent burn victim, Nicola Clarke. Chairman, Robert White with the assistance of AFJ Director, Ambassador Pamela Bridgewater (ret.) enabled Ms. Clarke to be airlifted from Jamaica to Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. The American Friends of Jamaica, Inc. (AFJ) continues to make an impact in Jamaica. The AFJ focused much of its efforts over the past year to responding forcefully to the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to continuing its work with donor advised, discretionary, and scholarship funds. Kingston Creative is a Jamaican arts non-profit dedicated to empowering creative people and the transformation of Downtown Kingston. Recently they partnered with the AFJ to offer a pan-Caribbean emergency COVID-19 relief grant for creatives in the region.
